Privacy Policy

Basis (“Basis,” “we,” “us”) is a trading-performance analytics tool. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Basis is in early access and this policy will evolve as the product does; material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above.

Information we collect

• Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile image from Google. We do not receive or store your Google password.
• Brokerage data. If you connect a brokerage account, we receive read-only trading data through our brokerage-connectivity provider (SnapTrade): account balances, positions, holdings, order and transaction history, and related market data. We cannot place trades, move funds, or modify your brokerage account.
• Information you provide. Settings, goals, preferences, account nicknames, notes, and anything you enter into the product.
• Usage and device data. Standard log and device information (such as IP address, browser type, and pages viewed) used to operate and secure the service.

How we use your information

• To reconstruct, display, and analyze your trading activity for you.
• To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the service.
• To communicate with you about your account and early access.
• To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your trading data with other users.

How your data is stored

Your data is stored in managed cloud infrastructure (including Supabase and Vercel) with access controls in place, and each account’s data is scoped to that user. Brokerage credentials are held by our connectivity provider, not by Basis. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Service providers

We rely on third parties to provide the service, including Google (authentication), SnapTrade (brokerage connectivity), Supabase (database), Vercel (hosting), and market-data providers. These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and privacy policies.

Your choices

• You can disconnect a brokerage connection at any time.
• You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account data by contacting us.
• You can revoke Google’s access to Basis from your Google account settings.

Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you ask us to delete your account, we will delete or de-identify your data except where retention is required by law.
